What is MCP and how do I connect?

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants like Claude, Copilot, and others use external tools. OctoTrip provides free MCP servers — just add our endpoint URL to your client's config and your AI agent can search flights and rental cars in real-time. No API key or signup needed.

Is OctoTrip really free? What's the catch?

Yes, completely free. We earn a small affiliate commission when you book through one of our links — the price you pay is the same either way. Search results are ranked by price, never by commission. Full transparency is a core principle.

Which AI clients are supported?

Any MCP-compatible client works: Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Cline, and more. Our servers use streamable HTTP transport with SSE — the most widely supported MCP transport. No WebSocket or local process needed.

Do you store my search data?

No. We do not log search parameters, destinations, or travel dates. We only track anonymous usage metrics (request count, response times) to maintain service quality. Your travel plans stay private.
